An incredibly interesting wine, Pinotage is a must try for anyone expanding their viticultural horizons. A genetic cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault.
The Du Plevaux signature range honours the heritage of Niel and Elsabe Du Plessis for their lifelong commitment to the farm where it is made. It is often said that the quality of these wines is only surpassed by the breath-taking views there.
The Pinotage is named after Jean Prieur, the founding father of the Du Plessis family in South Africa. He arrived on board the ship Oosterland in 1688. Just like this Pinotage, he was a profound man, strong and distinctive yet pleasant in his approach.
This masculine Pinotage with its deep, dark plum colour is bursting with flavours of dark fruits, chocolate and coffee. Soft tannins ensure a smooth, full and lingering finish.

A very tasty Pinotage. This is our second purchase of it and we will definitely buy more!
