Ashby Wines is an independent wine merchant based in the town of Ashby de la Zouch, UK. We are a family-run business, bringing together our English and South African traditions. With over 26 years’ experience in the wine trade, we are driven by our enthusiasm to find our customers a range of quality wines (and other drinks!) to enjoy. We are honoured to work in an exciting and vibrant industry and hope to continue for many more years.
We were fed up with the mass-produced, generic wine that fills shelves around the UK – its time to share our love of wine less ordinary.

Lucas
Our Wine Guru (Mr Nose)
Lucas has a love of all things wine and food related and enjoys extending his knowledge of the Wine Regions of the World with Ashby Wines. Born in South Africa and spending over 20 years living and working initially in the Cape Winelands wine and tourism industry, Lucas has travelled extensively in Southern Africa including Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana learning the various cultures and people and thoughts on wine. In later years having toured throughout Europe, Lucas relocated to live in England with his family and has worked in the UK wine industry for the last 10 years.
Claire
Our Marketing Whizz Queen (Mrs Smile)
Claire brings the fun and energy that is so prominent within Ashby Wines. With many years’ experience in marketing, advertising and social media, Claire helps bring the information and ideas that our clients need through our website, online shop, and our social media pages. Creating all the vibe that keeps the experience so great when interacting with Ashby Wines there is no doubt that the fun interacting with us does not stop when buying a bottle or two.
Brenden
Our Customer Care and Jester (Mr Ears)
If you ever need an ear, especially after a couple glasses, Brenden is your Man. Always keen to get feedback to help direct the way we at Ashby Wines can keep our valued customers excited about the future of our wines and other products. Always up for a giggle and yes he is a hugger.
Lesley
Our Editor in Chief, Chief, Chief (Mrs Eyes)
Lesley is the eagle-eyed editor who helps keep our blogs, information, and procedures up to date. With a love for research (normally with wine in hand) and making sure we are up to date with the latest goings on in the industry, Lesley helps keep us all on track.
