We know Touriga Nacional as the queen of Portuguese grapes for big aromatic red wines but something has been created with a new attitude…and it is wonderful How does it happen? Well with a very talented winemaker that loves to challenge Portuguese varietals. After a manual harvest the whole bunches are sent to the press without stalking. Only the free running juice is used, then natural static clarification and fermentation at 15°C.
Suggestions: Drink at 8°C to 10°C.
Food Match: It goes well with roast vegetable salads, baked fish, grilled or roasted white meat particularly interesting with pork. Try with cheese souffles or some of your preferred soft cheeses.
Awards: 89 points, Robert Parker
