Taste: A powerful full-bodied wine astonishing with the smoothness of its tannins. Velvety with a great personality.
Colour: Deep red with bright reflections.
Bouquet: Elegant, rich red fruits and a complex fragrance of Mediterranean pine-trees.
Service: At room temperature.
Production:
Area: The heart of Salento area South-West Apulia.
This wine is made using the same method as for an Amarone—the apassimento method. Grapes are dried on straw mats over the winter to concentrate sugars and then pressed and fermented very slowly. The resulting wines are light in colour but rich in body and flavour.
Grapes: 100% Primitivo grapes, produced from vines harvested riper.
Food Match:
Ideal partner for strong game dishes with fresh mushrooms and well-ripened cheeses or as a wine perfect for conversation.
Great value Primitivo, full of juicy notes and no doubt superior because of the Appassimento wine making technique
Another lovely wine , very smooth and easy to drink
