Hubert de Bouard ‘Silver Bell’ Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France, 2015

Produced by Chateau Angelus

£50.99/bottle

2015  |  14%

An ode to the famous bell adorning Angelus bottles, this is a Merlot, Cabernet Franc blend that really over delivers. Rich and plummy with chewy tannins and a superlative finish, this is a knockout plain Grand Cru and a great intorduction to the wines of Herbert de Bouard. Dense purple red colour, notes of black raspberry with flavours of blueberry licorice and chocolate rich texture and a superlative finish.

A knockout of a grand cru St Emilion!

Silver Bell is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru estate located in the western part of Saint-Emilion near Château Monbousquet and Château Fonbel.

The estate is managed by Marc Rivoal with the help of his wife Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal General Manager of Château Angelus, with the technical support of Hubert de Boüard who is the consultant of the estate. Since the take over this estate in 2011 around 4000 vines have been replanted while the average age of the vines reaches 25 years.

Each parcel of vine has its own viticultural protocol and is worked regarding its specificities. The vineyard is farmed following traditional methods, with great care and great respect of nature. Most crucial process is done manually.
