A 4ème Cru Classé en 1855, Château Talbot was named after Constable Talbot, the famous British warrior who lost the battle of Castillon in 1453.
Produced in the Saint-Julien appellation, the estate benefits from a vineyard of 99 hectares. Aged 54 years, on average, the vines are planted on soils composed of Médoc gravel. The ageing of the wine is done in barrels (of which 50% are new barrels).
The blend of the 2006 vintage is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
