Tasting Notes:
Dark garnet color with orange hints. On the nose, it is very complex and it evolves on the time. First tobacco and leather aromas appear then slight nuances of fruit preserves, almonds and hazelnuts together with balsamic and spicy aromas. In the mouth, it is dense, velvety with silky tannins, very complex on the palate, with the leather, spices and a mineral after-tasting.

GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Tinta del país.

VINEYARDS: A selection of our best grapes from our own- vineyards, Sullerto and Cornesa plots placed in Sotillo de la Ribera.

WINEMAKING: Fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature 28ºC for 15-20 days.

AGEING: 30 months in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels; then wine spent minimum 18 months in bottle in the winery.

To Serve: 16-17ºC, it is recommended to decant before serving.

The winery:
The Bodegas Santiago Arroyo, also from the Ribera del Duero. In the 1960s, a group of smaller winemakers came together in Sotillo de la Ribera (Burgos) to found the winery. Santiago Arroyo finally acquired it in 1994 and immediately began running the winery to the highest quality standards that we are proud of today. By modernizing the facilities and building a huge barrique wine cellar, the bodega can offer top-quality wines that have already been honored with numerous international awards. For example the following wine, in our opinion one of the great Spaniards, of which even the French should be jealous.
