This exceptional LBV has a deep black purple colour and vibrant ruby rim, reveals a fine and complex nose, especially the wildberries aromas combined with violet scents and small hint to eucalyptus leaf. On the palate, has a great vibrancy with ripe raspberry and blackberries flavours, black chocolate and black pepper combined with well integrated tannins and a velvety texture. It is a complex and multidimensional wine, with a deep long finish.
Blend: Touriga Franca, TourigaNacional and Tinto Cão
STORAGE AND SERVING
In order to retain as much depth possible, the blend has been bottled in the same way as a Vintage Port, without any stabilization or filtration. As a result, the Port may create deposit.
Ready to drink.
Can be left open for a couple of months.
Suggestions: It is an excellent Port to accompany cakes filled with red or black fruit jams, tiramisú, cheeses, ice-cream or simply as a digestive.
VINIFICATION
Harvest in the mid-September, the selected grapes were transported to the winery. The grapes were not de-stemmed and crushed in the traditional granite “lagares”. Before fermentation, the grapes were macerated for 1 day and the fermentation process took 2 days. Finally, the wine ages in large wood vats called“tonéis”, 4 to 6 years before bottling.
