Tasting Notes:
Intense red color, with a medium-high layer. Brick-tile tones in edging, clean with good tearing. On the nose, the tones of very ripe black and red fruits stand out , balsamic memories, smells of smoke, tobacco, toffees, with certain well-marked species such as cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate the wine is very smooth and round, with slight hints of dried fruit. Perfect balance between tannin and acidity.

PRODUCTION: 20,000 bottles per year.

VINEYARDS: Made with a selection of grapes from our “Miraflores”, “Sullerto” and “Cornesa” vineyards located in Sotillo de la Ribera.

PREPARATION: Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28o C for 15-20 days.

AGING: 36 months in American oak (40%) and French (60%). A minimum of 30 months in the bottle in our underground cellar before its release on the market.

To Serve: 16-18o C, decanting is recommended.

The winery:
The Bodegas Santiago Arroyo, also from the Ribera del Duero. In the 1960s, a group of smaller winemakers came together in Sotillo de la Ribera (Burgos) to found the winery. Santiago Arroyo finally acquired it in 1994 and immediately began running the winery to the highest quality standards that we are proud of today. By modernizing the facilities and building a huge barrique wine cellar, the bodega can offer top-quality wines that have already been honored with numerous international awards. For example the following wine, in our opinion one of the great Spaniards, of which even the French should be jealous.
